My writing philosophy

As I’ve progressed in my career as a writer and editor, I’ve developed an approach that is grounded in the principles of nurturing creativity, creating ritual and routine in my writing practice and environment, and developing a mindset that is about experimentation and openness, rather than trying to find the ‘perfect’ way to achieve writing goals.

What can I help you with?

I’m opening up mentoring sessions for a small number of clients to work one-on-one on their creative writing projects.

This could be a poetry pamphlet or collection, memoir, travel writing, non-fiction work, or novel.

How will our sessions be structured?

We’ll structure the session or sessions based on your unique needs. I offer free 30-minute appointments where we can connect, and discuss your ideas and goals. From there, I’ll propose a bespoke plan to develop your writing skills and creative project(s).

This might include:

  • developing a ritual and routine for your creative practice
  • creating a frame and structure to think more clearly about your project and goals
  • working on particular writing techniques or styles, and reading suggestions to expand your practice
  • direct editorial feedback and workshopping on a piece of work
  • problem-solving issues emerging in your writing from perfectionism to writers block and beyond
  • techniques to increase confidence, flow and focus
  • how and where to ‘get started’ in the writing world
  • how to navigate submissions, agents, publishers, and presses

Think of me as your personal writing coach, accountability buddy, and gentle ally to your creative muse.

Find a time to chat with me on Calendly.

Or, if you’re more comfortable communicating via text, send me an email at with your questions and ideas.

Do I need to be a writer already?

Not at all. I’m happy to work with everyone from beginners to experts and in-between. We all need support.

What if I don’t have a particular project in mind? Can we still work together?

Absolutely. I’m happy to discuss the writing skills you’re looking to develop, and devise bespoke workshop activities to help you progress as a writer.

Can I send you work in advance of our session(s)?

Yes, up to 2,000 words.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes, I’m happy to discuss in-person sessions. I’m based in London, and I’m happy to host you at a local cafe or workspace.

I’m part of a group of writers/creatives/yogis/young Mums/etc. Can we do a group session?

Definitely! I love running workshops for groups, and have run them everywhere from the Ubud Readers & Writers Festival in Indonesia, to cafes in the UK, to coworking spaces, to Zoom. If you’d like to chat about a group option, email me at with your ideas or for more information.
