Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island: Stakeholder Engagement

Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island functioned as Sydney’s temporary exhibition centre from 2014–2016 while the convention and exhibition facilities at Darling Harbour were rebuilt.

Part-pop-up, part-hidden Sydney Harbour location, the innovative project on Glebe Island—a location best known to Sydneysiders as a large concrete slab where car shipments first landed on arrival to Sydney—created a light-filled temporary exhibition space, enabling Sydney to maintain and grow its position as a key event hub in the South-East Asian region.

The project required a close collaboration with Infrastructure NSW and local communities in the design, development, communications, and stakeholder engagement strategy over construction and opening period.
